It seems to me just a variation on the usual theme. One can use anything. Glass is very suitable . A simple lean to with a southern exposure. Have the bottom of the glass sit in a "gutter" raised at one end to drain into a collection pot. Sides, etc can be wood , plastic whatever. A lot of solar distillers on the net some pretty useful for Herbal distillers.
