DMSO, MSM, and EIS. I use topical DMSO (diluted with EIS) and MSM orally, also yucca (herb--capsules). The EIS does help with my arthritis and painful joints, because the DMSO diluted with EIS seems to work much better than DMSO diluted with distilled water. It seems really useful, if one is using DMSO, to use EIS to dilute it, as why not add the extra benefit? If there should be any bacterial or viral involvement in the joint inflammation, the EIS should help a great deal, and the DMSO, in addition to it's own benefits for arthritis, delivers the EIS right into the joint tissues.

I had very enlarged finger joints and some twisting of the index and middle fingers from arthritis. I suspect it is topical DMSO/EIS doing the work, since my use of it corresponds with improvement, but anyway, the Bouchard's Nodes are greatly reduced. The twisting is still there, but the finger joints are quite noticeably smaller. Funny thing is it was sort of accidental, I was getting the DMSO on my hands while applying it to my knees. And one day I just noticed that the finger joints were smaller, and began putting the stuff on my hands deliberately, and have had further reduction of the nodes. I've tried to avoid looking at my fingers and hands for many years as watching the twisting keep increasing and the joints getting bigger and bigger, was really scary (having seen elderly people with hands so twisted as to appear almost useless). My finger joints look almost normal now.

As best I can determine, CS is not very effective in helping with joint
inflammation & pain (e.g. from arthritis). But recently I read that the
spice turmeric and an extract from it called curcumin have anti-inflammatory
properties, allegedly due to their anti-histamine properties.

Has anyone had experience using turmeric or curcumin (powder or capsules) to
help with sore joints? If so, what were the results? Any other ideas for a
"natural" treatment for arthritis? (This is a bit off-topic, so replies
directly to me are fine).
