Anti-biotics are stolen from funguses who use them to kill off anything not a fungus. Y\ou don't want to believe anything much that comes out of books. That uses "causal" reasoning which starts with knowing the right word for it. The way to understand how Nature works is done as in an ecology, in cycles, all the way around the mulberry bush. Just get yourself a nice petri dish of rotten vegies etc., pour on some anti-biotics. and just watch. One day I left a demo in a cupboard and found next year a pile of wonderfully covered layer upon layer of one new lot eating the last lot and so on. Anti-biotics stop all that. It is also the case that taking anti-biotics makes you get tired faster. Since it takes around forty years to fully ruin a well run body, etc blahh How long have we had anti-biotics? Correlate that with the rabid increase of diseases? Makes a nice asymptotic curve.

Anti-biotics save lives in a short term, what happens in the long term?

Our problem is that we super-impose our all too human thinking on the world at large and the game rule is as Benvenuto Cellini had it to rationalise a fight he got into. Always make sure to make yourself clear to your opponent. At every level or branch of the tree of life the game rules vary. And in a fight the game rule is as for Marseilles fighting tactics, make sure you win. And that's what happens at a microscopic level. Most of the alternative lifestyle medicine arrived in defence to standard medical thinking.
