What about SmartGroups? As an alternative to Yahoo? Some or all of the same drawbacks might apply. Just another thought. Searching messages is something I have yet to figure out there. But it isn't so huge/monolithic as Yahoo. I have a very small group there and it works well. But how it would be for a large group such as this one, no idea.
