Daddybob,

Amen to that. You might want to check out the attributes of a mostly vegetarian and organic diet if you are really interested in getting healthy. Animal food, even organically raised, is still a fairly unclean. Parasites, virus, bacteria, uric acid, hormones and saturated fat are some of the more unhealthful realities of eating meat. Moderation is the way to go if you must, but fish and poultry are far preferable to pork and beef. ----- Original Message ----- From: "ransley" <[email protected]>

Subject: RE: CS>Cultured meat?

I'm sorry, but the Cultured Meat idea sends shivers up and down my spine,
when we suffer from a myriad of diseases and conditions that can be
extensively linked to our dependence on over- manipulated and over-processed
foods, and those scientists who would tell us that we can grow foods with
only a minimum of nutrients, all for the sake of profit.

For those who would be proponents of cultured meat, I would suggest exposing
yourself to the ideas and practices of the Weston A. Price Foundation, and
reading the classic old Sci-Fi book, "The Space Merchants", so you'll know
what "Chicken Little" is.

I agree that the current practices are abhorrent, and so do the adherents of
WPA, but cultured meat is not the answer. The answer is a return to family
farming with respect for the life of a beast and thankfulness for its
sacrifice to our needs. This starts by making a decision to purchase and eat
the produce of those farms. I have made that step already with pork, now
getting the majority of mine from a local farmer who is doing the things the 'old way' and the taste of the meat proves it. In a couple of months I'll be
buying a considerable amount of beef from another farmer doing things in
such a manner.
