It can already be done. All it takes to have a cell divide, propagate and
grow a mass of similar cells is a nutrient bath, controlled temperature and
a few hormones.
The 'problem' is making complex structures and shapes.
Growing skin cells for grafting isn't that hard. Getting it to look and
act enough like skin to use as a graft, is.
No one know hows to duplicate the "patterns" of differentiation. No one
knows why 'this' cell grows 'here' vs some other cell.
So, we can make a very expensive steak in a steak shaped box, but can't
make a well marbled steak that any steak eater would want to eat.

..sounds a lot more pricey than having a 4 legged lawn mower or garbage
disposal around..
It would be nice to have giant cultured grass hopper legs on a bicycle.
Fill the tank with grass and go!
If I had pigs, I'd use them to till, weed and fertilize the garden all
winter, move them over to next summers garden or an overgrown area and
plant.
Might even be able to grow enough to feed them some.
