I've observed that the wood bees seem to prefer 3/4 inch by 8 inch spruce over heavier rafters. Places I've seen that had exposed rafters and 3/4 facia board on the ends suffer massive damage to the facia and none to the rafters. I'm going to try hanging a 10 foot length of scrap [warped] wood under the eves to attract them away from the important house pieces.

Dang it! I like bees. [But not yellow jackets]
..if they'd just stop drilling holes in the wrong stuff...

I have a little tiny mouse living behind the stove clock I can't trap. I call him Enor. Can't kill him, so I feed him. He likes peanut butter, green beans and peas.
If he keeps eating them, he'll live up to his name [Enor Mouse]
Then he'll be heavy enough to spring the trap..but now I like him. He's one smart cookie eater.

then, there's the sport of bad-bee-minton.

I spend a lot of time on that sport during May, in our part of the country. MA
