When husband and I were walking our usual mile on the
neighborhood streets I heard a pop and had pain. I
thought I'd wait to go to the orthopaedic surgeon and
hope to heal. I went 3 months later and found that
the meniscus had torn and then the rough area was sort
of chewing up the cartilage on the bone end. It would
have been much better to go early. The surgeon said
it's just old age...parts wear out (guess I was about
48 at the time). He said squatting is bad for the
knee. Knee felt better after surgery to remove 20% of
the meniscus but now the cartilage is mostly gone from
the medial knee joint.

I've spent lots of time in the sun without sunscreen
because it bothers my eyes and breaks my face out.
The newer ones are better. I mow and prune, do mulch
and plant flowers, plus used to walk for
exercise.(Seldom have been out in the sun without a
shirt hehehe, but it's usually a sleeveless one with
shorts) My bone scan a couple years ago showed a tiny
bit of loss (hip bone), but barely.
                                          Pat
