I have a cheap water distiller ($100). I find the water turns out better if
you only fill it with 3 Quarts instead of
4 quarts water. When it is full and boiling I think it is too close to the
condenser part on top. You have nothing to lose by distilling 3 Quarts as it
takes less power. I have gas hot water so I use hot water from tap.
Gas is cheaper than electric at least where I am. Hope this helps you got
nothing too lose. I would be interested in if this helps for others.
