I for one would love to have Virus Scanning via a plugin or rather. I know
it exists for Novell Groupwise, MS Exchange, and Lotus Notes/Domino...
Norton Antivirus has specific plugins for that purpose. I don't think an G3
or G4 processor would have any probs with scanning given the RAM and such.
I'm not so sure about OS 9... OS X should be able to crunch it no probs!

I think Email Server based Virus Scanning is a great solution. Most of my
clients use Macs, but one of them is all PC based with an NT Server and we
use Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition. This allows for FORCED updates and
sweeps to the Windows 95/98/NT/2000 clients and allows us to keep the
viruses at bay (at least 10 viruses a month are reported to have been
stopped!!! And this client only has 20 computers!) If the mail server can
intercept at least some of them...

Leave the Virus Scanning to Norton/Symantec or NAI or whoever. Just provide
the Plugin API!
