You, sir, are THE MAN!!!!!
We don't have a sluggish machine (350MHz B/W G3), but we do have a lot of traffic. (We
have about 100 users who each have their mail clients configured to check for new mail
every two minutes.) SO ... I checked, and found six mailboxes over 20MB. The largest
was 117MB <!!!heart attack!!!>.
Luckily, most of them were easily fixable, being misconfigured "forwarding-only"
accounts that were storing the mail instead of discarding it. Anyway, I got all
mailboxes down under 20MB, set 20MB limits on all mailboxes, crossed my fingers, and
checked it many times during the weekend.
Lo and behold, I am writing this on Tuesday morning and it is still up!!! I owe you!
In thanks, is there anything I can send you from the U.S. that is hard to find in the
U.K., or something like that? I am serious - e-mail me "offline" at my address below!
(I also installed MacsBug on Stefan Jeglinski's suggestion, in order to capture the
stdlog file, but fortunately I haven't had the opportunity to use it! Thanks anyway
Stefan!)
