I doubt this would work. You either run MacOS or Linux on the 
machine, but not both at the same time. Therefore, you either run 
SIMS or a Linux-based web server...

Why don't you try WebTen? It can run on the same Mac with separate 
IP-address. You better invest into a second ethernet card to enable 
WebTen and SIMS to speak to each other (with only 1 physical 
intercace, this is also possible, but very cumbersome to set up...).
