If you can't CHECK mail, then they have blocked port 110 as well (port 25
is SMTP, port 110 is POP... you probably already know that, but it bears
mentioning). This would make me think that they may have just blocked
everything below 1024 (common server ports).

You can always install something like IPNetRouter on the SIMS machine,
and use port mapping to move requests to a new opened port. Of course,
then you will also need a mail client that can try talking to a new port
(or run my Baton Mail program to enable your mail client to talk to any
port).

I tried for a bit to get a few different web front ends to work with
QPQ... I was most successful with atdot thanks to the help of Ron (he
sent me his already modified for the mac version, and gave me some
pointers)... but due to a problem I had getting QPQ to properly run ANY
cgi, I ultimately failed to get it to work. If you know more about
getting QPQ to work with cgis, then maybe you will have better luck (I
probably would have been successful if social engineering still existed
and could have given me a little support on it... but they don't, so they
couldn't, so I failed... hazards of using free software made by out of
business companies)
