AutoShare has a pretty good vacation implementation. It only sends one
reply to any given address, and it will ignore messages from mailing lists.
A couple of caveats, though: The documentation is a bit opaque, especially
on things like the vacation service, so there's a bit of a learning curve
to setting it up. Also, it doesn't seem to still be actively supported by
the developer, but it still works nonetheless (although the 'last updated'
date on its web site currently reads August 3 2003... Hmmm...). I still use
AutoShare with SIMS for a light traffic anouncement list and occasionally
for vacation service. It can be found at
<http://home.comcast.net/~autoshare/autoshare/>.
