And there's still no guarantee that the envelope sender is not forged.

The envelope sender is reflected in the message's 'Return-Path' header. The
relay host's IP address is in the last (top) 'Received' header, and the
envelope recipient _may_ be in the top 'Received' header. The envelope
information will also be logged by the receiving server, depending on the
level at which it's set to log.
