The admin of my ISP just sent me an email saying that spammers and the Direct Marketing Assoc. have shut down the RBL servers for the past couple of weeks. I'm sure he believes what he is saying, but I would find that hard to believe, as I'd hear about it on this list if there was a major failure in the RBL network. Right? :-)
He's probably confused with the DMA and TeleMarketers that have
successfully gotten the FTC's Do Not Call list put on hold. The list was
supposed to be active as of Oct 1st (with something like 5 million people
over FIFTY Million. That is, nearly half the households in the US.
What I can't figure out is why a judge thinks someone calling MY PHONE is a "free speech" issue. Sorry, but no one has the right to use MY PHONE without MY permission.
