How does one know what phone-context to use?

I have seen examples like this:
        tel:+1-555-987-1234
        tel:1234;phone-context=freescale.com

Is this the same as:
     sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ?
I think maybe not, but instead:
     sip:1234;[EMAIL PROTECTED]

which is correct?

what would happen if you used sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Is the phone-context just a way of mapping a DNS name
to a tel prefix? So freescale.com maps to +1-555-987 ?

Sorry if my questions don't make sense - I'm not
even sure what questions to ask.
