Franz, This sounds like a firmware bug I had reported to Patton quite a while ago that they have put on the back burner in fixing.
We were transferring a call from a Nortel PBX through a Patton 4960 gateway with 5.1 on it. The far end phone was on a sipX box. The phone would ring and if the caller picked up all was good. If the caller didn't pick up the call would not get transferred to voicemail properly. Because of an internet outage we discovered that if the SIP phone was not registered to the PBX and the call went directly to VM it would go to VM in that scenario. The bug still is not fixed as far as I know. I couldn't go back to 4.2 because it had signaling problems with the Nortel over the PRI connection. You probably can't go back to 4.2 because you are using the B2BUA functionality in 5.x which is not in 4.X. Please make sure you contact Patton tech support and put some pressure on them to get this fixed. Here's the ticket info: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------- From: Patton Technical Support [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, July 22, 2008 10:12 AM To: Picher, Michael Subject: [Support #23449]: another 4960 question Michael, After review with our engineers, we have found this to be a bug. We will enter this as so and it will be fixed in an upcoming release. I am not exactly sure when that will be. In the meantime, please switch to version 4.2 since it is working. The problem is this: SIP_ER> UNHANDLED EVENT 'EvNewSessionNeededForOriginalInviteResponse' I will let you know the time frame on this fix when it becomes available. Thanks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------- Mike > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:sipx-users- > [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Franz Sonnenberger > Sent: Wednesday, October 08, 2008 2:05 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [sipx-users] Voicemail > > Hi Tony, > > the connection and registering is made from a Patton Gateway SN4638 > (R5.2) configured in sipx as unmanaged gateway.
