Thanks Dale, I'll do that. -----Original Message----- From: Dale Worley [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, February 17, 2009 8:30 AM To: Barrett Falk Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [sipx-users] Message Waiting Indicator - MWI

I'm not sure how to fix that though. If the MWI on a phone is intermittent, the first step to fixing it is to gather enough data. Find a phone whose MWI is now working, write down the time (both local time and GMT (which can be obtained with the command "date -u")), the extension number (and the phone's IP, if there is more than one phone with that extension number). Make sure that the logging level for the proxy, the registrar, and "Voicemail MWI" (also known as sipstatus) is set to DEBUG. Every few hours, check whether the MWI on that phone is working or not. When you discover that it is not working, create a "snapshot file". Also, if this is not the same day as you started, you need to capture all the logs going back to the start time. There are various ways to do that, but if you have the disk space, just copying (or zip-ing or tar-ing) the directory /var/log/sipxpbx is the simplest method. Then come back to this list and we can look at it.
