What I found in learning about these things was that the initial learning curve 
is murder because the documentation seems to be purposely convoluted. The end 
result always ended up being way simpler than the docs would have had you 
believe.

I had to hire a mediant consultant to take a look at mine to find what I was 
doing wrong. He spent three hours doing what I had basically already done, but 
with a few minor changes here and there. That's when I learned about the 
documentation making practically no sense UNTIL you better understand the 
machine, then it all comes together.

Now I find the machine fantastic, easier to use, very flexible and quite 
powerful for growth. I don't use the sipx config anymore as I find it much 
easier to maintain the device on my own. However, I did use the sipx config to 
initially get the device up and from there manually.

I have to say, not one single hiccup since we've had ours. I bought two used 
M2K units and both are 100% perfect.
Can't speak for the 1000 units however.
