We have three AudioCodes Mediant 1000's with either one or two 4-port FXS
modules in each one. Configuration isn't the easiest but once it's done they're
rock solid. The Mediants have good web based interfaces for configuration,
which is handy 'cos you can't configure the FXS modules from SipX.

We also have one Cisco ATA186 which has proved to be cheap and reliable. Again
we did most of the configuration from the ATA186's (crappy) web interface but
it was pretty simple and straight forward.

The one *issue* with both of these has been getting hold of the right firmware.
Cisco in particular were a nightmare because we have no support contract with
them. Even the distributor took two days to get the right firmware from them
:-(

Subject: [sipx-users] Recommendations for FXS, ATA

Can folks share their opinions of the best FXS ATAs to use with SipXecs? In
particular, I’m interested in which products are both robust and can easily be
configured and up and running in a short period of time. I would think that the
ability to configure via the SipX administration web console would be preferred
but, please tell me otherwise if I am incorrect.

Tony is often sweet on the Pattons, and I see the SipX console list templates
for AudioCodes, Grandstream HandyTones, and several Linksys/Sipura SPA models
in the “Add New Phone...” drop down menu.

Of course, price is always a consideration but, not if the quality isn’t there.

I know that this has been discussed on the list before but, damned if I can’t
find the threads. Thanks in advance!
