The simplest configuration to do what you want is to set a Default
Caller ID on the gateway for your trunk, and then set individual Caller
IDs for the users who have DIDs. You should not need the group setting.
That should cause the From header to be set to what you want in the
outgoing INVITE message that goes from the sipXproxy to the sipXbridge.
What happens from there depends on two things:
1. The configuration of your trunk - some ITSPs require that the
header fields sent to them be particular values (such as the
main number always being in the From field).
2. What the ITSP does when it forwards the call into the PSTN.
I'd suggest that you reconfigure as above, and then take a trace of
what's happening (see the link on the wiki page you used for how to get
and display traces). What you're looking for is how the From field
changes as the messages go between the proxy and the bridge, and between
the bridge and your ITSP. It would be useful for us to know who the
ITSP is, and for you to post your sipxbridge.xml (after stripping out
your itsp account user name and passwords, of course).
