If they have any more trouble I'll probably buy a Patton gateway for 
them if what you say is true but I would like to know for sure.

I don't have to tinker with my audiocodes M1000 PRI unit or the FXS 
devices once they're set up, it's the outbound calling on the FXO 
devices that does this. I think I've managed to get the VAD working 
properly now but I'll know soon enough.
