All, Currently our mailing lists are set to reply to the user and not the list in the mail headers. As a result it's really easy to reply just to the person and not the list if you don't do a reply all. I would propose changing the list so the default is to reply to the list. This would keep traffic on the list(especially for newbies), which is where you mostly want it. And you would have to work to have private threads, which to me is the opposite of what a public mailing list is supposed to do. This has a side benefit of slightly obfuscating people's email addresses as well, as people normally could hit reply and not clutter up their address books with list recipients addresses. Most lists I'm on are setup to reply to the list, so I think that is what a lot of people are used to. It's how I generally setup up the lists I manage, but this was an oversite.
Thoughts? Questions? Concerns? I think this is a "the will of the list will prevail" thing, but obviously I'm a +1 for changing it. Matt P. _______________________________________________ sipx-users mailing list [email protected] List Archive: http://list.sipfoundry.org/archive/sipx-users/
