Just thought I’d throw this out there… We have a Patton 4960 gateway that has a public IP address (WAN port) that uses IP based registration to connect to voip.ms (in the routing table – we only allow traffic on the WAN port to/from the ip address of the voip.ms server we are registering to). We are doing this so our legacy NEC system can route long distance calls via voip.ms for the cheaper long distance. You could point sipXecs to route calls to the Patton and let the Patton send the calls to voip.ms (and vice versa). It’s an expensive option if you don’t already have a PRI gateway that can register a SIP trunk – but it would allow you to keep your traffic on 5060 and keep sipXecs out of the mix. Plus you still have the option of letting remote workers into sipXecs.
