Mike - I think you point out an important feature of sipXecs that many
people don't find - the line configuration. I suspect many don't know that
you can select each line on a phone and have a separate configuration on it.
I personally didn't realize this for quite a while.

By selecting the line, you can disable it as a choice for voicemail, so that
you can have true one button voicemail retrieval when you have multiple
lines, you can select the ring tone for the line, etc.

Subject: Re: [sipx-users] Distinct Ringtones for Internal and External Calls

I use distinctive ring and create inbound call extensions on answering
position phones. For each line you can set a different ring tone.

With multiple lines on a phone, go into the phone, click on the inbound line
and then the registration menu item to the left, then change the label and
ring type to whatever you want.

Possibly unrelated, but something I ran into - When using an external PSTN /
ISDN gateway (audiocodes / patton etc) , if the gateway resides on the same
network as sipX, there is no method for differentiation between an internal
and external call - IMO this limits the usefulness of the current patch.

One thing I think would be really useful and would love to see implemented
with regard to distinctive ringtones is a way to set a distinctive tone per
user / ring group / incoming gateway - Many users coming from basic digital
keyphone systems have specific tones implemented depending on whether a call
is coming from particular PSTN lines / an internal caller / door phone etc
and its often difficult loosing that functionality during a conversion.

Given that the basis for distinctive ring has already been done, how much
work would it be to implement something like this?
BTW, is there any sort of Asterisk-style bounty system for sipX?

Thanks,
Jeff

Internal call ringtone

Ringer settings for internal calls
Ringer (Default: Low Double Trill)
Call waiting (Default: call waiting tone)
Pattern used to notify about incoming call when another call is in progress

Realize this might be considered an "experimental" function since it does
delay all audible rings once enabled. Then sent the profile to the phone and
restarted the device?
