At least use A record name resolution on your servers.... This will of course preclude you from ever going to a cluster. Consult the wiki. I'd suggest walking before you try to run. Build a server on it's own little network, plug some phones (or use softphones) in and try to figure out how things work. Learn the difference between A records and SRV records. You're throwing yourself into a big mess with NAT and firewalls.
Also, before you go sticking this thing raw on the internet, know that there is no firewall enabled on the system... Take my advice, or not...
