Still you have not indicated what the UA is. If you truly want help, you
could be more descriptive in your environment/use case. The UA is a key
piece you are leaving out here.

All of what you are trying to do is wholly dependent upon:

1. UA
2. Gateway

It is really not a sipxecs specific question.

You bring up Patton gateways, but at the last minute say Audiocodes.

Whatever the gateway is and the UA is does not really matter to interact
with sipx as long as you are using supportable devices. YOUR individual use
case is specific as the the functionality of how the gateway sends dtmf
relay (or not) and whether the UA is able to send hook flash to the gateway
(whether inband or as sip info).

If you have done this before you should (one would think) understand the
call flow process and how it works. If the current implementation is not
having all of its media anchored by the pbx and the media is peer-to-peer
then there would really be no difference, technically speaking.

Your UA must be compatible with sipxecs in general, and you should really
test that before assuming this will work the way you want it to.
