I use cron scripts with dump, lvm snapshots, and a script to do SQL
database dumps.  I would have to recreate the VM after a disaster, but
that is pretty straight forward.  The dump is sent to a staging area
(scratch hard drive), where all dumps are written nightly to an LTO-4
drive.
