As far as I know this problem doesn't occur with the code in trunk. But I can double check... > I should also try out Bernard's OSCAR SystemImager 3.6.3 RPMs, > but I need more time for that. However, fudging a temporary > workaround with /sbin/MAKEDEV isn't the same as a long-term solution, > IMHO. Well it is a workaround, and I only did it because I needed 3.6.3 working at the time and there wasn't any other (obvious) solution. If this is still an issue in trunk, then we definitely need to fix it. > Isn't there any method to delete preexisting disk partitions > during SystemImager node installation ? This is just a hunch, it hasn't been verified/validated yet ;-) > Again, provided I wipe the disk clean before using SystemImager, > installation works very smoothly. So I guess you upgraded your client's SystemImager to 3.7.3, re-ran si_prepareclient, copied the kernel/initrd.img to your imageserver and it still doesn't work? Which SystemImager packages did you upgrade? You need to upgrade at least systemimager-client, systemimager-common and systemimager-x86_64initrd_template. What version of SystemImager are you running on the imageserver? I'll test this out and get back to you.
