Hi Doug and list!

I like the idea of having the installer optionally adjust the dictionary. I
would choose not to do it in my case because I believe emoticons are stupid,
and demonstrates one of the many ways written language standards have been
permitted to deteriate. I recognise though that Gordan has the opposite view
and the functionality should be available for him to take advantage if he
chooses. Alternatively, I suppose you could put a note on the scripts page that
describes the simple but effective adjustment Gordan has made, but then those
who may want it wouldn't find it any more than they find the instructions for
installing SkypeWatch. That information is clearly there, but there is none so
blind as he/she who *will not see!

Cheers,
Dave

I guess I'll open a discussion on this one. The main reason I haven't
done this yet, other than time, is that what to translate with a JAWS
dictionary is something of a matter of opinion, and opinions vary.
For example, I personally do not want "btw" translated to "by the
way"; I want to know what a person actually typed. If I add Skype.jdf
to the file set, everyone's personal Skype dictionary will be wiped
out and replaed on every script update. My inclination, because of
this, would be rather to post directions on how to do what you did.
The installer could be made to do that too I expect, giving the user
the option to do it or not to do it.

  Hello all, Doug's attention required:)!

Using the last three or four script revisions, I really missed speaking
smileys, acronims and some things similar to them. I often use smileys in
chats, not to mention phrases like BTW, CU etc, so, since there was no
dictionary in scripts, I "stole" MSN .jdf file and renamed it to
  "skype.jdf".
This funtions perfectly, as long as you disable graphic presentation of
emoticons in Skype, much like you do in MSN.
And now, what was I going to say?
Doug, can you make an original Skype dictionary file for the next rev of
scripts? I really find it very useful, and if you adjust some existing
dictionary as I did with MSN's you won't lose much time, and I (and
hopefully lot of other people) will be really grateful.
  Thanks for listening!
