I've seen SkypeOut calls show up as a few strange numbers, including 000-012-3456, but never 000-000-0000. It's not impossible, but I've never seen it. I'm told there are other ways of generating strange caller ID numbers like that other than from Skype, but I don't know a lot about this.
I think we don't have enough information to know whether your mysterious call is coming from a Skype user though. On Tue, Jun 03, 2008 at 07:17:28PM -0500, Curtis Delzer wrote: I have a problem. I believe a skype user is calling my landline number. Here is the number I get on my caller I/D: zero zero zero, zero zero zero, zero zero zero zero. Bogus? It is obviously a Skype / out caller. The only people that have my home phone number are very close friends or acquaintances and would for no reason whatever, call, let alone use Skype to call my landline number. What can I do? I hope this isn't too off topic--recommendations rather than castigations would help more. :) Curtis Delzer curtis at calweb.com curtis at gondtc.com skype: callto:curtis1014 Thanks for posting to the skype english list.
