Hello,

As far as I can test, there is no difference if the graphical emoticons
are turned on or off. My version of Skype (v3.8) is set to bulgarian
language. When I use the translated in bulgarian "skype.jdf" file, JAWS
speaks the emoticons in bulgarian, as they are written in the dictionary
file (disregard of the tooltip info for the icons in the chat window).
When I tested the dictionary from Doug's site, JAWS speaks the emoticons
as they are described in that file. So, I guess that no matter if
emoticons are turned on or off, the text and punctuation symbols
representing those icons are displayed "internally" and JAWS can read
them without problems. And that applies to mood messages too. Maybe for
that to work properly, the accessibility options in Skype should be
turned on, as mine are.

Best wishes!
