Hello, In the default view of Skype, to close a chat window, press CTRL+F4 - it worked for me.
BTW: Didn't we have a keystroke witch displays a list of opened chat windows, and we could select the one we want and go to it? It was a command from the scripts, but I don't remember what it was and if it still exists or it was removed from the scripts. Best wishes!
