Hi! Seems like nice idea but I'd rather leave it at user's choice. Two reasons: This is not needed in Compact View because almost all notifications comes in as mesages, and if you use Skype WAtch, you can hear the last event by pressing Alt + Shift + F9 keystroke. Sometimes it's not good that applications jumps in and taking the screen focus.
