Hi! I'd never heard of the Skype contact list being in a sub-menu system, but then I only installed Skype for the first time in May 2008, therefore I've only used Skype 3 and Skype 4. As far as I can see, the contact list itself hasn't changed in Skype 4.1, except that when one of your contacts is actually talking to you or doing a written chat with you their name disappears temporarily from the contact list and goes to the live conversations list. But when you're not talking or exchanging written messages with anyone the contact list looks the same as in 3.8, except that JAWS no longer tells us when each contact was last seen. Admittedly the methods of starting calls and chats and so on are not the same in Skype 4.1 as in 3.8, but you can get used to that. Of course, there are some people out there who are happy with 3.8 and would rather stick with that, and I respect their choice, but I can tell you, from experience, that Skype 4.1 is far from impossible to use, in fact it's mostly straightforward thanks to Doug's excellent scripts. Bye for now, and happy skyping, whatever version you want to use! >From Clare ----- Original Message ----- From: "alex wallis" <[email protected]> To: "screen access software with skype" <skypeenglish at emissives.com> Sent: Monday, July 13, 2009 4:59 PM Subject: Re: [Skypeenglish] missed events, an idea.
