Dear Doug and Sara, I think this is an important statement and this brings up the question of using default or compact view again. I would like to apologise, as when I discovered default view I was a little over excited because it was something new and I'm the kind of person who gets bored and likes to change from time to time, and so I wrote to the list about how good the default view was. Now to Sarah, as I think you are working on the documentation for Skype 4, in order not to get new users confused, I think it would be best to recommend that they switch to compact view, speak about compact view only, and leave default view to advanced users who like to experiment with things and who will do it anyway just for fun. Those pop-ups can be turned off in Options, under Chat or Chat Appearance (I forget which). The pop-ups only occur in Compact view, so if you use Default view, that will stop the pop-ups as well. Personally, I like the pop-ups, because I'm more sure to notice a text chat that way.
