Hey Alex, which Skype version are you using? A friend of mine cannot stand the contact-mixing in Skype 5.10 so from version 5.8 she upgraded to 5.9, and she is unable to hear any typing indicator. This makes me suspect that the workaround that Doug Lee found is only valid for Skype 5.10 and not 5.9. Bye!
