Respected friend.
Recently an awful lot of people have been having a problem with Skype on
Windows where it would start to load and then would display that
annoying message Skype has stopped working.
This would happen with any screen reader installed on the computer.
Well I've managed to
find out why and how to resolve it.
The reason its doing this is because of a recent Windows update where
Microsoft have disabled things with embedded Internet explorer add-ones
from running, such as Skype.
To resolve this problem, do the following.
1. Open control panel and choose Programs and features. You can do this
from the start menu if running XP Vista or 7 or Windows+X if your
running Windows 8
2. Click the link which says view installed updates.
3. Press F3 to navigate to the search box and type the following update
number.
KB2977629
That's 2 9 7 7 6 2 9
I did it like this with spaces so that your screen reader wouldn't
string it altogether.
4. Press the applications key and choose uninstall. When its
uninstalled, you must restart your computer.
Once your computer has restarted, can I suggest you go back into Windows
update and hide it.
To do this.
1. Go into control panel and choose Windows update.
2. If you need to click the link that says check for updates.
3. When it says 1 important update is available, press Enter.
4. In the list that appears highlight that 1 update and press the
applications key.
5. Click hide update.
I hope this message is useful for some of you.
After you've uninstalled that update Skype should run normally again.

Subject: [Skypeenglish] Skype Error
Hi all,
This error is intermit and does not happen every time.
But I get an error when opening skype that says, skype has found an
error and needs to close. Windows is checking for a solution.
I click on details and still find nothing.
The program then asks me to close it and I do.
I'll check with the skype FAQ to see if anyone else has found this error.
I am using the latest version of skype.
I've already uninstalled skype but the error keeps coming up.
I am also scanning with Malwarebytes just to be certain it is not
something that has attacked my computer.
I just rebooted and the error did not come up again. It won't come
up until I reboot and then reopen skype.
Skype is set to open when I click on it, not when the computer starts
after boot up.
Larry
