I know this because I was Coco Linden until recently, and the subject came up often in our discussions. Mesh support is certainly a very highly requested feature and I know that many Lindens want it as much as you do. I've done a fair bit of computational geometry and data visualization work in the past so I know exactly how you feel. Nobody that I know of is against the idea and as you can imagine, there has been some very early design and prototyping work done. I won't give names or details because I don't want to burden anyone in the lab, all of whom are working far too hard as it is. Just feel assured that this sort of thing is very important, and your requests and suggestions are definitely not being ignored. I don't know of any fundamental roadblocks. It just requires some due diligence and a Linden's concerted effort. There are simply only so many developers, designers, QA, etc. and issues of stability and usability must always take precedence over new features. I don't want to get anyone's hopes up but I do want you to take heart and to not try to torture the poor sculpties too far beyond their original intent. -Melinda _______________________________________________ Policies and (un)subscribe information available here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/SLDev Please read the policies before posting to keep unmoderated posting privileges
