Hi folks!

I am still struggeling a bit with the details of how to actually roll out the 2.0 release, but I guess I am pretty close now.

What I am going to do is

1.) Set a release tag called SLIDE_2_0_BETA1
2.) Run final tests on the server
3.) Have a vote on the dev list and cc the final results to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] list
4.) Create the folowing distributions
1.) Full server source distribution
2.) Binary war/jar distribution
3.) Tomcat 4 bundled binary distribution
4.) Tomcat 5 bundled binary distribution
5.) Full client source distribution
6.) Binary client distribution
5.) Sign them
6.) Upload these distributions into cvs.apache.org/dist/jakarta/slide/2.0-beta3
7.) Update the Jakarta Website to show the release
8.) Announce release at [EMAIL PROTECTED], Slide dev and user

Does this make sense? I have never done a release/roll out on Jakarta before, so please check this is no nonsense.

Open questions
1.) I can speak for the server part only, so is the Client part ready for a release as well?

Currently https support is broken. I am waiting for a small fix from
the Commons HttpClient folks, but will include a version patched by
myself, if it takes too long.

I understand we should wait a bit with the release, is it this what you want? If so, on problem I guess...

Oliver
