I used to be ( actually I still am) a postgrad at UTS, and I did a fair bit of
teaching there (but I don't teach anymore), but this incident with the mouse
balls and the simms occured just before I started my postgrad, I got some money
for setting up the PC labs for electrical eng.

We know they went in through the diskdrive covers because the cases were
padlocked down, so they knocked out the drive covers, and didn't bother to
replace them.

Unfortunately, theft was very common at UTS, we even made the papers one day
when two of our students were caught by police stealing stereos out of cars, and
somehow the fact that they were UTS students got into the paper. The school
was not impressed, and they were immediately excluded for bringing the Uni into
disrepute.

We also get hit by street kids stealing laptops. Late one night one of the CSE
students was preety badly bashed when he wouldn't give up his laptop, though
this is very rare.

Cheers
