Some commercial products are just management front ends to tar /cpio.
Alexandria is one that comes to mind. So long as you realise that it
has multiple sessions on a tape, it is possible to walk the tape and
retrive the session you want.

This tar/cpio/??? is a good spec to have when you are looking for a
enterprise system.

On Arkeia, I never had any trouble with the sessions I ran under the
30 day trial. Where I have had trouble is getting the server running
on Caldera OL 1.3 & 2.3.
