It really depends on the employer. In my experience, Linux has simply been a
tool to solve problems with. It just happens to have suited most of the
situations I've stumbled across in the last while.
In a business/commercial situation, learn it, and use it when it's
appropriate. Religious devotion to 'the cause' isn't won't help in these
situations, and flexibility is a virtue.
Find an enlightened employer. They need you more than you need them
(although don't rely on this situation to continue - always keep learning!).
