Both, most Unices (with the exception of AIX) are pretty much the same
when you come down to it...

When we hire admins we look for Solaris, AIX, and FreeBSD, but that is
because that is what we use. We would certainly smile on Linux as a sign
that you could learn. Once you have the concepts, then it is easy to
send someone on a 5 day course for them to make a transition.

I would think experience with something is better than no experience at
all.

I got my first job as a Solaris admin on the basis that I could admin
Linux, and was a quick learner. That was only a few years ago now...
