I have to agree with you there, but mostly in the server/gateway area; but
having said that I have to admit to having one client with 30 Linux boxes
spread across two states, right down to the desktop and not a Window in
sight - it gives you a very satisfying feeling.

As for dropping out of uni, well I did it 35 yrs ago from elec eng (IT
wasn't even known then, though we did program in Algol 60).  I went back
and did IT 20 years later.  So you would have to have a sub-category
"Geriatric".
