I recently did a little rant about how within two weeks of me playing with
Debian for the first time I had switched 20 RH 6.2 systems across 3
hardware platform (i386,PPC,SPARC) to being all Debian.
The main reaon was Manageability. From a sysadmin point of view,
discovering the Debian way the closest I'll ever come to feeling like a
"born again Christian". I had to get my head around the Debian way but once
that was done it has made my job a whole lot easier.
The best advice I can give is to try it. I tried it just out of curiosity
and soon saw what a difference it could make. Try it for yourself Dave and
if it blows you away than that's all the convincing you'll need. If it
doesn't blow you away at least there's another Linux distro you've got
under your belt ;)
