I decided to write a log. I'll flesh this out into an intelligent guide if
needs be (however it seems the Debian documentation is good enough... too
easy).

00:40 Sent "Start the clock!" email to SLUG list.

00:53 Powered up Sun machine. Bugger me, this monitor is big.

01:02 Downloading tftpboot.img, reading installation instructions.

01:06 Installed tftpd and set up dhcpd for the new machine (simono)

01:16 Completed downloading tftpboot.img

01:17 boot net sparc-boot.img

01:19 "kylie tftpd[12903]: tftpd: trying to get file: 0A0000C0.SUN4M" Okay,
I'll rename it. You going to be happy? Huh?

01:20 boot net -> ooh! Looks like it's sucking down the boot image.

01:21 PHWOAR! Linux boots! Usual Debian install screen! SWOIT!

01:22 Exactly what kind of keyboard is this? ;) Trying the sensible default.

01:22 Partitioning time. Here's hoping it's not too weird -> that caught me
      on the Multia last time.

01:27 Using partitions as I would on an Intel, confused by "Whole disk"
concept for partition 3. Will research later. This is the "dive in and
      learn by buggering up" method.

01:28 One of the nice things about Linux and Debian is that once you're past
the hardware, everything's pretty much the same. Very familiar
      territory.

01:33 Trying the network install, and it requests the rescue.bin and
drivers.tgz files. Ugh... Don't they know the clock's ticking?! ;)

01:37 Still downloading rescue. I've just realised that the slowest machine
on my desk has the biggest and most domineering monitor. Oh well.
Window Maker is going to look spectacular! ;)

01:47 That was daft. I could have just downloaded them straight from a
Debian mirror. Feh, I'll be able to install it again should I stuff
things up royally (read: VERY LIKELY). Over the hour mark. That is
      *so* my modem's fault. ;)

01:55 Wheeee! NFS installed, rescue and drivers transferred, ROCKING ON!

01:56 Lots of different drivers.

01:58 Downloading base system (yeah, 16MB worth), as it's preferable to
having it installed over HTTP. Waitink, waitink, waitink.

02:20 This is obviously *ruining* my land-speed record for installing on an
      unfamiliar architecture. :) 17%

02:24 "Cannot write to `base2_2.tgz' (No space left on device)." Um, don't
download 16MB files onto a 9MB filesystem. DUH.

02:30 Control is in the wrong place. Yeah, so bite me, alright?

02:50 38%... Alright, pause timers. I'm going to bed. ;) Hafta work
      tomorrow.

To be continued.
