Unfortunately support for the S3/Virge chipsets is (at least in Xfree86 V3.3.6) split accross two drivers,S3V and SVGA. You'll need to check the doco (www.xfree86.org) to determine the correct one.

Subject: [SLUG] SOS

Hi

This a general question about SuSe 7.01 installation.

Every time I try to install SuSe the installation will not recognise my S3 Verge graphics card and will thus not install. I am installing from a 24 speed CD ROM drive and. My friend suggests I buy a DVD drive and install from the DVD but I think not.

Please answer, I have assignments due in!!!!

Thanks

David Herd
