Hi Sluggers,

I have a Gigabyte motherboard (GA-686BX) - quite old,
and I have tried reflashing the bios with an update
from the Gigabyte website gigabyte.com.tw .. the Flash
update froze half way through and I now can not start
my system. Nothing comes up on my monitor either.

A few friends have already suggested looking for a
"reset jumper" or removing the little round battery,
waiting five minutes, and replacing it ..

What do you guys think I should do ? The manual for
the motherboard (available from the site) doesn't mention
anything about resetting the bios, it mentions a
"hardware reset" by "shorting" a jumper labelled "RES".
How do I "short" a jumper ? ("short" is opposite to
"open" in the manual)

Please help !
